getUBetter Launches New Pathway for Self-Management of Hand-Related Injuries and Conditions

getUBetter, a leading digital self-management support for all common musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries and conditions, has expanded the scope of its offering to include a new pathway for all common hand-related conditions. Once locally configured to an ICS, getUBetter users will be able to access standardised and personalised support for new, recurrent and long-term conditions of the hand, including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis, Dupuytren’s, Osteoarthritis, and Trigger Finger.
The new hand pathway supports patients with evidence-based, and clinically safe information, taking them through their recovery day-by-day. It equips users with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to self-manage their condition effectively. Support is provided through safety netting, advice, exercises, outcome measures, and referral when necessary, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The content is available in 14 languages, with an option to turn any text into audio.
Non-specific hand and wrist pain has a prevalence of around 10% in the general population and can have a significant impact on everyday life and quality of life. These issues represent a significant proportion of work-related injuries, often impacting people’s ability to work. Jenny McCullough, getUBetter’s Chief Clinical Officer, commented: “Like other MSK problems, most common hand injuries and conditions can improve with the right self-management support. This pathway ensures that users across the system can access relevant, evidence-based advice and exercises from day one, with referrals back into the healthcare system if needed.”
The new hand pathway complements the 13 existing MSK pathways already available on the platform, which cover conditions such as back pain, hip, knee, ankle, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, tendinopathies, and sprains and strains. McCullough added: “With the launch of our hand pathway, we’ve further expanded and completed our comprehensive MSK self-management support offering.”
