Our commitment to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions

Updated 21st February 2025

getUBetter shares the National Health Service’s (NHS) ambition to achieve net zero emissions targets in accordance with NHS Carbon Footprint (Scope 1&2) by 2040, and the NHS Carbon Footprint Plus (Scope 3) by 2050.

As part of our sustainability commitment, we are actively developing carbon reduction plan to minimize our environmental impact and working towards achieving net-zero status through targeted strategies across our infrastructure and operations.

To reach this ambitious goal, getUBetter has outlined a comprehensive three-step process designed to reduce its environmental impact:

  1. Measure our carbon footprint

By thoroughly assessing our current carbon emissions, we aim to understand the full scope of our environmental impact and identify the areas where change will have the greatest effect.

  1. Reduce emissions

Through strategic initiatives, we will actively work to decrease our carbon output across all aspects of our operation.

  1. For emissions that cannot be eliminated, we will engage in carbon removal projects, ensuring that our net impact is zero.

As an organisation, we need to remain committed to continual improvement. Through individual, team, and organisational efforts, getUBetter can play a vital role in supporting the NHS’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
